At Afromeals Foundation, partnership is about more than collaboration. It is about listening, aligning values, and responding with care. One of the partnerships we are deeply grateful for is with Expanding Boundaries International (EBI).
Who EBI Is and the Work They Do
Expanding Boundaries International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding educational access and global learning opportunities for young people. Their work centers on empowering students through education, cultural exchange, and skill building, particularly for low-income children and youth. EBI believes that education should open doors, build confidence, and create pathways for long-term opportunity, both locally and globally.
Education Was the Start, But Not the End
While EBI's core mission has always focused on education, their team recognized that learning does not happen in isolation. Students thrive when their basic needs are met and when their families are supported as well. This understanding led EBI to launch a new initiative during the Christmas season in Ghana.
In Ghana, Christmas is a meaningful time of gathering and celebration, and a traditional Christmas meal often includes rice and chicken. For many families, especially those facing financial hardship, providing this celebratory meal can be difficult. EBI wanted to ensure that the children they serve could return home for the holiday with ingredients to share a Christmas meal with their families.
A Challenge and a Shared Solution
Despite the strong vision, limited funding made it difficult for EBI to send children home with food ingredients. When this challenge was shared with us, Afromeals stepped in as a partner, not only to support the idea, but to help reshape the approach.
Together, we suggested an alternative solution. Instead of sending ingredients home, EBI could prepare and provide meals to the children before the Christmas break. This ensured that every child received a nourishing, culturally familiar Christmas meal, regardless of what awaited them at home.
Making Christmas Possible Together
Through the determination of EBI, community fundraising efforts, and the generous support of Afromeals LLC along with Afromeals Foundation members, funds were raised to bring this vision to life. As a result, children and youth were able to enjoy a Christmas meal rooted in tradition, comfort, and care. Through this partnership, Afromeals Foundation and EBI were able to feed 195 children.
This partnership reflects what is possible when organizations come together with shared values. Education remains at the heart of EBI's work, but this initiative reminded us all that nourishment, dignity, and cultural connection are just as essential.
Looking Ahead to Christmas 2026
We look forward to continuing this partnership and raising funds alongside EBI to expand this initiative for Christmas 2026. Our shared goal is to provide students with ingredients such as rice and other essential items that they can take home and share with their families, allowing them to prepare and enjoy a traditional Christmas meal together.
If you feel moved to support this effort, we invite you to donate and help make culturally meaningful Christmas meals possible for students and families in Ghana. Every contribution helps strengthen families, honor tradition, and create moments of joy during the holiday season.
Gratitude and Commitment
We are proud to stand alongside Expanding Boundaries International as they continue to grow their impact in Ghana and beyond. At Afromeals Foundation, we remain committed to partnerships that honor culture, meet real needs, and uplift families in holistic ways.
Together, we can continue creating moments of hope, nourishment, and connection.
